School Meals
School Meals
Our school meals are managed and provided by Aspens Catering and are served in our Whytelicious cafe and cost £2.80 per day.
The government provide free school meals for children in Reception, years 1 & 2 and for those children who qualify for benefit related FSM. (Please see section below)
Aspens are proud of their varied nutritionally balanced menu, which provides 4 options for the main course each day including a vegetarian option.
If your child has specialist dietary requirements, such as medically diagnosed food allergies / intolerances, please contact Aspens to discuss this further. You will be asked to apply for an allergy safe medical menu for your child which excludes the 14 most common allergens. If this does not cover your child's requirements, a bespoke medical menu designed with a dietician may be able to be provided. For safety, you may need to provide a packed lunch while this application process is being completed.
School meals must ordered at least 1 day in advance via the Schoolgrid booking application. Parents should book the school lunches required for their child or provide a packed lunch from home. No lunch can be provided where a booking has not been made. Credit payment is required in advance or at the time of booking unless your child qualifies for free meals.
Packed lunches from home
If you wish to opt out of school meals and provide a packed lunch from home, we ask that you provide a nutritionally balanced lunch.
Sweets and fizzy drinks are not allowed. No glass containers please.
Please remember we are a NUT AWARE school and have a number of staff and children with life threatening allergies. For this reason, please DO NOT pack nuts, products containing nuts or any products containing nuts of any kind.

Universal Free School Meals For Early Years and Key Stage 1 Children
Every pupil in reception, year 1 and 2 is eligible for free school meals. In January 2015, new food standards were introduced. By following these standards, we can be sure that our children will get the nutrition they need across the whole school day.
We believe that the school lunchtime is a great opportunity for all our children to sit down together and enjoy their healthy and tasty meal, while developing their social skills. We therefore hope that all parents will take up this offer of a free school meal for our infant children.
If you do not wish for your child to eat a school lunch, please provide a balanced packed lunch from home referring to our content policy above.
