GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

School Meals

Our school meals are served in the Whytelicious cafe and cost £2.60 per day. Meals are free for children in Reception, years 1 & 2 and for those children who qualify for FSM. (Please see section below)

Please log into your Parentmail account at the end of each week to make a credit payment. Alternatively, you can credit the account in advance and the meals are then deducted from this balance as taken.

We are proud of our varied menu, which is nutritionally balanced and provides 3 options for the main course each day including a vegetarian option daily. In addition to this there is a salad bar with freshly baked bread available daily and children can help themselves to items they may like to add to their main meal.

If your child has dietary requirements, such as medically diagnosed allergies / intolerances, please contact the school office to discuss this further so that we can work together to ensure your child can still participate in school lunches.

Once your child has registered for school lunches, their chosen days each week remain in place until you should notify us of any changes.  Please put all changes to school lunch requirements in writing to info@whyteleafeschool.org.  Changes to the school lunch register are made every Monday morning.

All meals are ordered in advance (not on the day) so it is important to keep us informed if there are any changes to your child's school lunch / packed lunch days to avoid any undue charges being added to your account.

On occasion we operate themed menus for special days. You will be notified of the menu in advance via Parentmail. Please note that on these days, the themed menu is the only menu available and there are no alternate dishes available. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

Free School Meals and Pupil Premium

We ask that every parent completes the form below to find out if they are entitled to free school meals and pupil premium. If your application is successful, we will contact, you to advise you of this and your child's meals will be registered as free of charge from the date of certification.

Universal Free School Meals For Early Years and Key Stage 1 Children

Every pupil in reception, year 1 and 2 is eligible for free school meals. In January 2015, new food standards were introduced.  By following these standards, we can be sure that our children will get the nutrition they need across the whole school day.

We believe that the school lunchtime is a great opportunity for all our children to sit down together and enjoy their healthy and tasty meal, while developing their social skills.  We therefore hope that all parents will take up this offer of a free school meal for our infant children.

If you do not wish for your child to eat a school lunch, please provide a packed lunch and let the school office know that this is your choice.
