Our Vision and Values

At Whyteleafe Primary School and Nursery, our vision is simple:

Aim High.  Be Independent and Enjoy Yourself.

Everything we do is driven by this vision and by our belieff that every child should leave our school:

We are committed to helping every child achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally, ensuring they are well prepared for the next stage of thier education and for life beyond primary school.

Our Values

Our school values are embedded in everyday life and are consistently promoted through our curriculum, relationshops and behviour systems.  Through our Behaviour Sapphires, we wncourage children to be:

• Respectful
• Responsible
• Kind
• Self-contrilled
• Honest

Children who consistently demonstrate these values can be aawarded a prestigious Sapphire Tie, which they wear with pride for a week as recognition of demonstrating these behaviours.

Children may also earn Sapphite Beads for demonstrating these values and making positive contributions to school life. These beads are collected in a class jar and contribute towardss a shared reward, celebrating teamwork and collective success.

 

Developing Positive Learning Behaviours

Our learning culture is underpinned by the Whyteleafe Wheel of Learning, which sets out the learning behaiours we expect all children to demonstrate in their lessons.  These behaviours help children become resilient, independent and reflective learners who are willing to challenge themselves and persevere when learning becomes difficult.

Each week, one child from every class is chosen as Star of the Week in recognition of their excellent learning behaviours and demonstration of our school values.  These children are celebrated during our weekly assembly, providing an opportunity for the whole school community to recognise their achievements.

Children can also earn House Points when they demonstrate our values and learning behaviours, helping to foster a positive school culture where effort, character and chievement is celebrated.

By working together to uphold our vision, values and learning behaviours, we create a school community where every child feels valued, inspired and empowered to succeed.
