Premier League Day
In the morning we had a whole class assembly where we were introduced to the Premier League, Pete the Eagle and Steve Childs. First we went outside to do some football related activities. They were great because we learnt a lot about teamwork and they were really exciting. After that we had a PSHE activity in the classroom with a Crystal Palace for Life Foundation coach, who helped to work together as a team to achieve our goals. Then we had a Q&A session with the trophy and had a class photo with it. We learnt about why there are 2 lions wearing crowns and all about the previous winners! It is 75cm tall and weighs as much as some of the people in my class - 4 stone!
Then in the afternoon Dan Freedman (author of the Jamie Johnson books) came in. He explained about his work in football before writing and how people like Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand influenced his writing. Steven Gerrard even wrote a quote for his books. We were all given a book and then he signed the cover.
My favourite part of the day was seeing the trophy. Overall it was a fabulous experience and we all loved it!
