Young Voices Concert
On Monday 4th February, Whyteleafe School choir took part in a Young Voices concert at the O2 arena, London. The choir travelled up to the O2 at lunch time in preparation for an afternoon of rehearsing. All of the children worked hard during the rehearsal and were relieved when it was time for the tea break. Once changed into their Young voices T-Shirts, the children eagerly awaited the arrival of their parents in the audience. The excitement was heightened further when the lights went down and it was time for the concert to start.
The concert featured a massed choir of 1800 children and included performances from Urban Strides Dance Crew, Tony Hadley from 1980's pop groupSpandau Ballet, Beau Dermott a finalist on Britain's Got Talent and Sharlene Hector, lead singer of Basement Jaxx. The choir sang their hearts out throughout the concert and even remembered all of the dance moves. A highlight of the evening for the choir was enjoying the parents dancing along with Urban Strides!
Whyteleafe School Choir did an amazing job. They sang and behaved beautifully throughout. They were a credit to our school. Well done everybody!
